> International Programme
> Reporting to: Head of Organisation
> Contract Length: 12 Months (open to renewal)
> Modality: Remote work
> Start date: October 26th, 2026 (handover starts on October 19th)
> Working hours: Equivalent to full-time
> Role Objective:
Thanks to the passion and dedication of dozens of volunteers, Collective Aid is able to do
incredible work supporting tens of thousands of people each year who are on the move across
European borders. A vital part of the work we do is drawing attention to what we see, recording
the stories of the people we work with, and ensuring those stories lead to systemic change.
People on the move are so often silenced and overlooked and our advocacy department is
dedicated to ensuring the stories of people experiencing displacement are communicated to
those with the power to improve the situation. Managing this department is a proactive role
that seeks to cause change and maximise impact.
> International Programme at Collective Aid:
Collective Aid is a grassroots organisation that provides services in Serbia, Bosnia &
Herzegovina, and Greece. Each country programme has a unique and targeted intervention in
the form of projects, which typically involve NFI and advocacy. The International Programme
has been established to provide expertise and development advice to the country programmes
and for the overlap development of the organisation. The International Programme at Collective
Aid functions to ensure cooperation and mutual support among the projects and to facilitate
continuity throughout high turnaround periods. The team of the international programme are
tasked with support and development tasks throughout the year and are expected to divide
their time between all the programmes equally.
As Collective Aid is increasingly invited to conferences, diplomatic events and other high level
advocacy meetings, the international programme is often responsible for representing the
organisation at such events. Advocacy Manager

> Key Outputs:
As Manager of the Advocacy Department, you will lead the investigative human rights research
pillar of Collective Aid’s work, ensuring our human rights findings across programmes and the
investigative research of the advocacy team is developed into meaningful outputs and external
engagement. The key outputs are:
Strategic advocacy output
Developing our long-term investigative Total Incident Ecology outputs, aiming to
develop and deliver at least three substantial investigative outputs each year.
Throughout each year the advocacy team works directly with programme teams and
needs assessment data to identify priority issues, develop research questions and
coordinate evidence in order to produce robust, relevant outputs that contribute to
Collective Aid’s overall strategic goals for human rights action. These outputs will also
involve opportunities for wider cross-department efforts in campaigning, partnership
and policy engagement.
Regular reporting
Developing our monthly Lines That Hurt advocacy digest, aiming to produce a brief
monthly digest of key human rights and investigative developments from across each
programme. Lines That Hurt is a key publication for providing a consistent overview of
emerging human rights issues and trends that connect programme-level findings to
wider political developments, and identifies areas where further investigation, advocacy
or policy engagement may be appropriate.
Stakeholder engagement
Supporting the advocacy team and programme teams to translate investigative
research into meaningful local, national and international advocacy engagement. The
advocacy team are relied upon to provide strategic advice and support follow-up with
relevant partners, advocacy organisations and diplomatic stakeholders, which ensures
that Collective Aid research is actively reaching decision makers and policy forums.
